Vaginismus

What is vaginismus?

Vaginismus is a vaginal constriction of the pelvic floor that causes discomfort, burning, pain, penetration problems or complete inability to have intercourse.
Vaginismus is a common cause of ongoing sexual pain. It can affect women at all stages of life; even women who have been having sex comfortably for years.

Common symptoms:

  • Burning or itching with constriction during sex
  • Difficulty, or impossible penetration, pain on penetration, uncomfortable insertion of the penis
  • Continued sexual discomfort or pain after childbirth, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, hysterectomy, menopause, or other problems
  • Continuous sexual pain of unknown cause, for no apparent reason
  • Spasms in other muscle groups of the body (legs, lower back, etc.) and/or interruption of breathing during intercourse attempts
  • Difficulty inserting a tampon, or having a gynecological/pelvic exam
  • Avoidance of sex due to pain and/or failure
  • When a man attempts to have intercourse with a woman, the pelvic floor muscle group goes into spasm and squeezes, closing the entrance to the vagina, making intercourse impossible and painful.
As a consequence, this type of vaginismus makes penetration impossible.
  • In other cases of vaginismus, penetration may be possible, but the woman experiences periods of involuntary contraction that cause burning, discomfort or pain.

Variations in the Vaginismus Experience

Not all women experience vaginismus in the same way, and its extent varies:
Some women are not able to insert anything at all.
Some women are able to insert a tampon and perform a complete gynecological examination, but are not able to accept the insertion of a tampon.
of the penis.
Other women are able to have a partial insertion of the penis even though they find this process very painful.
Some are able to accept full insertion of the penis, but contraction and discomfort disrupt the normal progression of arousal by
orgasm, and instead causes pain.
Some women are able to tolerate years of uncomfortable intercourse with pain and discomfort gradually increasing until, eventually,
interrupt the sexual experience.
Women may also experience years of sporadic difficulty with penetration or movement, and have to be constantly
taking care to control and relax your pelvic area.

Vaginismus is involuntary, not intentional.

It is important to note that vaginismus is not deliberately or intentionally triggered by the woman. It happens involuntarily, without
intentional control, and often unnoticed. Vaginismus has a variety of causes, often in response to a combination of factors
physical or emotional. The mystery of the problem can be very frustrating and distressing for both the woman and her partner.

INTIMRELAX allows you to perform exercises to gradually and gradually dilate the vaginal canal. Its 3 elements are designed with special ergonomic shapes, of different sizes, that
help to follow a gradual treatment.
A water-based lubricant should be used to facilitate the insertion of the element while lubricating the vaginal walls and mucous membranes.

Although vaginismus is involuntary and can strike any woman, many women feel very embarrassed about not being able to have intercourse and hide their pain in private.
Variations in the Vaginismus Experience
Vaginal dilators, such as FEMINTIMATE's INTIMRELAX, are effective tools in eliminating pelvic constriction caused by vaginismus. Dilators are an alternative way,
and not HORMONAL, to trigger pelvic muscle reactions.
Graduated vaginal insertion exercises allow for a comfortable transition to achieve intercourse without pain or discomfort.
